Home Run – TWS Round 8

Bet you were glad not to hear from me for a while 😉 A lot has changed in my absence, but Sunderland aka Totalfpl are still rubbish. So lets just point out that Haxball is just a game, but this is business.

Key numbers for Round 8

Average Bid amount for Round 8 = 13.7 (Rising everyweek now)
Most common bid amount = 3 (25% of bids, only 33% of them successful)
Cheekiest successful bids – Man City….Savic and Rodriguez (10m/token)
No released players again. Keep in mind Round 9 is the last round to release players.
Average tokens spent so far = 76 / team
Most valuable defender left to bid for Round 10 = Jose Enrique (14M)

First up, Fernando of Porto is the highest priced my Not in the list, at 17.5M. Secondly, we are 46 midfielders short of a full set and there are only 44 up for auction….. Fulham, Liverpool and Swansea only need one mid each.
Now we all know Wenger is panik buying, and that he needs a proper DM. Fernando fits the bill and also Porto have been kind enough to point out that they will sell for the 30M buy out clause.  So it really is that simple, the gunners will end up spunking a ridiculous amount on him and his price will rocket and none of you will own him. Well played guys.

Order of Extreme Valour

Now without much delay let me reveal this weeks winner for purchasing a special player. However, you are all equally blessed to walk this earth with him. For he is a knight, sired by knights.  A knight who can trace his lineage back beyond Charlemagne. I first met him atop a mountain Jerusalem, praying to God, aksing his forgiveness for the Saracen blood split by his sword. Next, he amazed me still further in Italy when he saved a fatherless beauty from the would be ravishing of her dreadful Turkish uncle.
In Greece he spent a year in silence………….just to better understand the sound of a whisper. And so without further gilding the lily and with no more ado, I give to you, the seeker of serenity, the protector of Italian virginity, the enforcer of our Lord God, the one, the only, Sir Kolarov von West Ham.

Jose Mourinho Ticker Rumour Mill

First up a couple of wonderful pieces from Villa, West Ham and Norwich;

Check out the the exclusive press release from the Aston Villa camp regarding the Messi situation

Check out the West Ham transfer press conference:

Norwich City TV has finally uploaded video of the Cristiano Ronaldo welcome press conference. Apparently things were not as rosy as the print media would have had us believe.

Just early signs that things got heated during the latest transfer window, and hectic apparently if the ticker request below is anything to go on;

Andre Schurrle now holds the record the shortest time to played for any club, having signed for Arsenal at 2353 and left for Norwich at 2358
A fight appears to have broken out between Arsenal and Crystal Palace, with none other than Super Oscar Baby. Its fair to say that Palace’s return taunt is quite the burner;
Arsenal file litigation case against Crystal Palace on grounds of “intentional distraction” after Super Oscar Baby was used as a weapon to keep the Arsenal owner Zep occupied for half hour just before the deadline
Crystal Palace respond to Arsenal’s litigation claims with an offer to try to appease the hungry mob: “Although the thought of throwing Super Oscar Baby to the dogs may be appealing to some, we at Palace stand by our staff. We would consider lending Arsenal the Championship Play-off trophy for 3 months to try to offset their withdrawal symptoms from silverware.”
And finally, lets look at the transfer movements. Bale looks set for a mahoosive price hike for Hull, which Kuqi has noticed. Oddly Norwich sold Lamela to Spurs as a part deal for CR7. Lamela should be set for a rise now he looks set to go to Spurs in Bales wake.
In Hull’s latest press conference, The Kuqi Monster made an appearance where he said “Hull’s final assault up the table has begun. We expect more from Gareth”
So with many thanks to all the players and helpful contributor ENR I leave you with this message:
TWS Happy Hour is back this week. See you all at @ Sat 10pm for another Prediction Contest. The end is neigh….
