So, here I am, writing an article about myself as I am (by definition) a ‘key contributor’. Whilst this stinks of self-importance, I’d genuinely feel better about writing this if I wrote it in a self-deprecating manner. So here I go:

I am 24, and studying Economics at university. I have no underscore in my Council username. I have been using FPL for seven years, and never been outside of the top 75k (ended with 2011 points in the 10/11 season, some say I did this on purpose), with three top 10k finishes. However, I am best described as an English penalty taker; aka a bottler (or Great British – I take pleasure from blaming the Welsh, Scots and Northern Irish for our QF defeat to South Korea). I am also the pacifist Joey Barton; I can give advice, but rarely take my own.

A West Ham United fan who once had a fling with Charlton Athletic, because they treated and trained my children so well! I am 58. I have a soft spot for Everton, and a great deal of respect for United. I quite like Stoke, which earns me numerous brickbats!

Started playing Fantasy Football in the Guardian game, for two glorious years. Didn’t win anything, but ALWAYS selected ONLY English players. Had an abortive stab at FPL in 2008/9. Guardian game ceased in 2009/10, owing to a lazy marketing department.

I migrated, via The Mirror to FPL in 2009/10, still only selecting English players. Played on with full teams since then, gradually improving. I have been on FFS since that year.

Won my public head-to-head last year. Set a record bench score of 43 for FFS; my team scored 57 … I am notorious for my differentials, and sometimes dispense sound advice. My best achievement last Season, however, was succeeding in persuading everybody that Yaya Toure was a sound investment!. I have a fondness for box-to-box midfielders which started with Steve Hodge … and will continue this Season with Alexander Song!

Co-founder, with Ginkapo of the bodacious “It’s a Long and Winding Road …” set of Leagues. My ambition this year is to run these successfully, and break 2200, and get into the top 20k.

Joined FFS: A long long time ago

A huge ”Mighty Pool” fan, and a frequent traveller to Anfield whenever not committed to my Local Footy Club. A fantasy die-hard that takes part in many forms of fantasy or prediction competitions.

The entire life is spent either on football fields, playing, coaching and managing, or in my “World Cup Armchair” watching footy on the TV whilst trolling through online stats & forums to quench the thirst for knowledge.

Past Achievements:

* Fantasy Ironman Champion 2011/12;

* Joint winner of 2011/12 MatchMag but lost out on prizes on Goals Scored (Not annoyed (much));

* Twice managed to select a FPL Captain & Vice Captain that failed to play leaving – NO Captain…

Joined FFS: 2010/11 Season
Joining FFS halfway through a disappointing first season of playing the official fantasy game, Archie is determined not to make the mistakes of the previous years.

A realistic Liverpool fan (does such a thing exist?) he dispenses occasionally sensible advice while doing the exact opposite, and is likely to jump on the first pretty little bandwagon to turn his head.

Past Achievements:
Owning Royston Drenthe for 6 weeks for a 2 point return
Boldly entering every competition going and finishing disappointingly averagely.
