FFS FA Cup

Over the past year and a half we’ve been happy and fortunate to organize several cups and competitions for the members of the FFS community. You’ve experienced a wide variety of competitions ranging from the Champions League and Europa League to the Euros and from the The Leagues  to the ICC and the TWS.  However our biggest regret has always been that we haven’t been able to include a large enough portion of the community. Each competition we’ve been pained when we’ve had to turn down members of the FFS community because there were only so many spots. So this time around we’re glad to announce a competition that will involve a far greater number of community members – up to 737 people in fact – that mirrors our favorite Domestic Tournament in England. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re proud to announce the Inaugural Edition of the FFS UEFA FA Cup (or FFS UE-FA Cup as Isacki likes to call it)!

How it works: We will be running a H2H knockout tournament that mirrors the real life FA Cup. Like the Leagues, each manager will be assigned a team to represent. The winner will automatically qualify for the Europa League in the second half of the season.

Registrations: Registrations will be open immediately. If you would like to participate, please fill out the form below before the deadline. Filling out the form earlier will give you no advantage in the selection process. If we have more apply than we have spots, each spot will be randomly filled from the registration pool. If you applied for season 3 of the leagues, whether or not you were accepted, you have already been guaranteed a spot in the FA Cup so please DO NOT register.

Team Allocation: Current EPL Managers in the Leagues will keep their same teams for the Cup. Scouts and the other 100 Managers from the Leagues will then fill out spots from the Championship downwards. Those who applied for the Leagues but didn’t get in and those who are registering now will fill up the remaining spots. For those in one of the five non-EPL leagues, email us if there is a particular (non-EPL) team in the FA Cup that you support in real life that you’d like to represent and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Timeline:

August 31: Registration Opens

September 22: Registration Closes

September 25: Team Allocation and First Round of Fixtures Announced

September 28: FFS UEFA FA Cup Begins

Rules:

  • Any point hits will be deducted from your weekly total
  • There are no restrictions on playing your wildcard
  • Each match will follow the  traditional 1v1 format. Point scoring is based on the official Fantasy Premier League Game.
  • In the case of a tie there will be no replays, instead the following tie-breakers will take effect:
    • The Team with the most goals in the gameweek wins (Penalty shootout)
    • In the unlikely event of teams still tied, the better ranked team wins.

Draw:

The fixtures for the Extra Preliminary Round, the Preliminary Round, and the First Round Qualifying will mirror the real life match-ups that have already been decided. After the First Round Qualifying, the Organizing Committee (TW, Isacki, and Berbilly) will conduct a midweek draw to determine the weekend match-ups. Results of the draw will be announced on Wednesday or Thursday each week (assuming the previous gameweek ended on a Monday).

So head on over and Register for the Inaugural Edition of the FFS UEFA FA Cup. Remember, if you are applied for Season 3 of the Leagues (whether or not you got in), DO NOT register as you already have a spot.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below or email us. (lletsaw.netsirt@gmail.com, berbilly.gilmore@gmail.com and isacki@gmail.com)
